Writers and the Internet: How to Tame the Web: September 2009. This is a two-day affair presented as the opening event in the Canadian Authors Association's series of meetings for 2009 / 2010. I'll be joining Kate Welsh, an Edmonton based lawyer, in a discussion and full day workshop on how writers can best use the web. Topics include best practices, promotion, defamation, copyright law, and other cool stuff.
The Writer Online: Canadian Author's Association Conference: July 2008. Delivered a presentation focusing on writers establishing themselves on the internet. Covered websites, blogs, best practices, Facebook.
Writers on the Web: The Edmonton Public Library: November 2007. Delivered a variation on the Bridges seminar to a group of 40 writers at the Edmonton Public Library.
Writing The Land: The Writers Guild of Alberta Conference: September 2007. Facilitated "Bridges to the Outer World" breakout session with Eric Barstad and Alexis Keinlen.
